Registration is free. Registration is required to maintain accurate information as well as deterring multiple submissions by the same person. Once your registration process with Victims of Cedars has been completed, you can submit your hospital experience story, make submissions to the Discussion Forum, and/or grade the hospital based on your experience there. For your registration to be in effect, you must submit the following information: your name, city and state of residence, email address, choice of username and password. Once this is submitted you will receive an email from us confirming your email address. The email will include a Confirmed Registration Link that will bring you back to the site, allowing you to then submit your story, comments and/or hospital grade information. This process confirms that the email submitted is valid and belongs to the person wishing to register to this site. Victims of Cedars reserves the right to cancel your registration privileges at any time.

Victims of Cedars will not post your real name and email address (identifying personal information) to the Victims of Cedars website. All submissions you make that are posted to the website will include your User Name, City and State information. All other identifying personal information is private and confidential and will not be shared or publicized. For further information, please read our Privacy Policy and Disclaimer prior to Registering.

Your User Name must be an alias and cannot be another actual persons name. The Victims of Cedars Administration reserves the right to request a revision of a chosen User Name if the use of that name could be construed as a submission by a third party that may be unaware of the information being submitted. If the User Name should need to be revised, The Victims of Cedars Administration will send you an email noting it’s reasons and give you the opportunity to select a new user name.

The submission of a Personal Hospital Experience story, Discussion Forum comments or Hospital Grade information does not guarantee it will be posted on the Victims of Cedars website. All submissions will undergo a review process by the Victims of Cedars Administration. The Victims of Cedars endeavors to avoid posting anything with disparaging remarks and malicious or profane language (no matter how well deserved they may seem to be). If your experience was negative in nature, we ask only that you state the facts of your experience as honestly and objectively as possible without making defamatory, slanderous or conclusive statements (i.e. “The hospital killed my wife”). Once the review process is completed, you will receive an email notifying you if your submission will be posted. In the event it is rejected, the email will include an explanation of why. You may then have the choice of making any necessary revisions or provide further clarification or details. Possible reasons for rejection of a story are if it is found to be inaccurate or illegitimate, has profane or malicious language, is unnecessarily inflammatory in nature, or a duplication of a previous submission. It is not the intent of Victims of Cedars to censor or change your story. We want to post your story accurately and honestly, and within the guidelines of the law.

By registering I hereby acknowledge that I have read and agree to these Terms of Use.

We respect and are committed to protecting your privacy. That is why we have adopted this Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy lets you know how your personal information is processed and used. We promise that we will take steps to use your personal information only in ways that are compatible with this Privacy Policy. The following policies are only in effect for the web pages, discussion lists and email lists owned and operated by Victims of Cedars (VoC). The following discloses our Privacy Policy.

What information do you collect when I register and how will it be used?
VoC offers the opportunity to grade hospitals, join in discussion forums and submit personal hospital experience stories that require registration. We use your registration contact information to send notification to you by e-mail.  Your name and email information will be kept confidential and will not be posted on the VoC website.  Only your user name, city and state will be posted to the website, and then only in connection with your submission to Hospital Grade and Comment, Personal Experience Story, or Discussion Forum input.  As such, the submission by you of such written material constitutes your authorization for those materials submitted to be posted on the VoC website.

When you register to submit a personal experience story, participate in a discussion forum, or grade a hospital on the Victims of Cedars website, we ask for your name, city and state of residence, and e-mail address.  You will also be asked to choose a User Name and Password to create an alias for your use while visiting the site.  This information will not be shared or sold to third parties for any purpose except as provided in this Privacy Policy without your express permission.

We request your email address for the purposes of confirming your identity, to confirm the status of your submissions for our “ Hospital Report Card”, “Discussion Forum”, and “Personal Hospital Experience” pages, and to request additional information if necessary.

Whenever we request the identity of a visitor, we will clearly indicate the purpose of the inquiry before the information is requested. We maintain a strict "No-Spam" policy that means that we do not sell, rent, or otherwise give your email address to a third-party, without your consent or as permitted by this Privacy Policy.  Should you choose, we may from time to time send an email announcing VoC site update information. Except as stated above, VoC will not send you email that you have not agreed to receive.

When you sign up for a VoC discussion forum, your username is recorded solely for the purpose of maintaining your account within the forum. This information is not used to monitor your activity within a forum, nor is it used to identify you outside the VoC site.

Wherever VoC collects personal information we make an effort to include a link to this Privacy Policy on that page.

Will you disclose the information you collect to outside third parties?

Opt-in Announcement List Privacy Policy
As an added benefit to the visitors of the VoC site, we send emails notifying registered visitors of updates to the VoC website to those individuals who request to receive them. Whether you want to receive these updates is your choice; you should only receive updates if you affirmatively choose to.  Your personal information will not be used by VoC for any purposes other than to deliver email updates, except as authorized by you. You may stop the arrival of these updates at any time by following the removal instructions on the email.

By using the VoC, you consent to the collection and use of information by VoC as specified above. If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those changes on this page so that you are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances we disclose it.
